aboutThings to do, places to explore and loads of fun to be had in Virginia!

May 17, 2013 - Any time is a good time to chill out at at the beach

Are you looking for a place to chill and slowly drink up a cup of coffee and not have to rush off from one appointment to another? Does renting a bus with your friends and making your way to some beach cafe sound like a fun idea? Well, if it is a yes to either of these questions, then you should not wait any longer!

Java Surf Beach Cafe is located at 301 25th Street, Virginia Beach - is a great place to hang out with your friends after some fun on the beach. And you don’t have to worry about driving if you are not too keen - you can always consider renting a bus and leave the hassle of driving to the bus driver. After all, with all the fun that you are expected to have at the beach, you would probably be too tired, if not lazy, to drive after that!

Java Surf Beach Cafe is not too far away from the ocean and it is also a great place to meet some of the locals and hear them talk about the latest happenings in that area. Here you get to enjoy free WiFi, freshly roasted Williamsburg Coffee and if you are one who enjoys being under the sun, you can opt to sit at their outdoor patio seating. The deco in there is simple and makes one “feel” at home. However, don’t get your hopes too high on expecting this place to be some kind of a fancy restaurant, as it is more of a coffee shop than a restaurant, casual yet comfortable. It is a great place to go for a light meal and delicious coffee or tea. They do have variety of choices of coffees, specialty lattes - hot, iced or blended, tea and smoothies. In case you are wondering, they do serve cocktails like “Bloody Mary” and freshly squeezed Mimosas too.

You will find that their menu is fun too, with exaggerated names like “The Funky Monkey”, “The Lifeguard”, “Man Overboard” and etc - but what they really serve are grilled chicken breast, bacon, scrambled eggs, bread, salad and the likes. So, no, they do not literally cook a monkey or present on a plate to you someone dressed up as a lifeguard!

One of the best thing about renting a bus for an outing like this is that you do not have to clean up after the trip. You can just hop off the bus and leave the sand behind you. Now, wouldn’t you like that for a change?
